This drawing was inspired by hot air balloons. On June 4, 1783, the Montgolfier brothers performed the first balloon flight in a public demonstration with a ten-meter diameter hot air balloon at a French market. The brothers had invented the balloon in 1782, but it wasn't tested until the following year.
