Doctors' Day

This drawing is inspired by Pan American Doctors' Day. In 1953, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), at the Pan American Congress in Dallas, proclaimed December 3rd as the Day of Medicine in the Americas. The day was proposed by the Argentine Medical Federation, through Professor Remo Bergoglio, in honor of the birth of Dr. Carlos Finlay, a Cuban physician who discovered the role of the mosquito in transmitting yellow fever.
