This drawing is inspired by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who sought asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London on August 16, 2012, to avoid extradition to Sweden over sexual assault allegations. He remained there for seven years until Ecuador revoked his asylum in 2019 and he was arrested. Assange faces charges in the US for leaking classified information, and in 2021, a British court rejected his extradition due to mental health issues, sparking debates about press freedom and privacy.
