This drawing is inspired by the incident that happened on August 18, 1976 in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). It started with the cutting down of a tree planted by Kim Il-sung (the grandfather of the current leader, Kim Jong Un), where during a tree-pruning operation in the DMZ, American and South Korean soldiers encountered North Korean soldiers. A verbal conflict, over cutting the branches of that tree, escalated until a North Korean soldier attacked with an axe, killing two American soldiers and injuring four more.
